Blue Skies
Who can resist a big, blue sky? Flipping through some photos from my trip to Japan and Taiwan, I started feeling nostalgic. Michael's was having a big sale on canvases so, I figured this was as good a time as any to start a new series. This is one of the paintings I started today, which will be a landscape of Farm Tomita in Hokkaido.
This is layer one.
Then I built in the sky and the mountains in the horizon.
I then put in the the basic shapes of the foreground and called it a day.
Farm Tomita is the famous lavendar farm in the northern part of Japan. Besides lavendar, they also grow other types of flowers and even canteloupe. I probably won't get to go back to Japan for awhile but, at least I can relive the memories through painting.
