
A Voice
A distinctive point of view that is recongizable and unique to yourself. We all have it, but why is it so hard to translate to our work? I am in admiration and envy of those artists who have figured out how to send their voice clearly through their work. So, that when you look at a piece, you can tell right away it is by them. Time
I found myself with lots of time this weekend. The kid had multiple birthday parties and it was a long weekend. I worked hard during the week and was able to catch up with all my grading. Nothing like having time. So I used my time to do something I love, and paint something I love. The above painting was mostly completed in one day. It's the second portrait of this size. A Fresh Start
I absolutely love beginnings. I love starting something new. It gets me pumped. I used to worry about not finishing everything I started but, over the years I've realized that even unfinished projects and intentions serve some unrealized purpose in the end. It's the new year, so I'm all for starting new intentions and projects. I started my own e-course and painting classes, which is giving me plenty to think about.
